Privacy

In short: this website sets no cookies, embeds no external fonts or scripts and does not count your visits. A connection to the outside world is made only if you explicitly click Load map on the “Contact & directions" page.

This is a translation for convenience. The legally binding version is the German one at Datenschutz.

Server log files

When you call up this website, your browser automatically transmits data that the web server stores in what are known as log files. These are:

  • the address requested and the date of the request,
  • the browser used and its version,
  • the operating system used,
  • the page visited previously (referrer),
  • the IP address of your connection.

This data is technically necessary in order to deliver the website and to ensure its stability and security. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest). It is not merged with other data sources and is not evaluated for advertising purposes. Log files are deleted after seven days at the latest.

Cookies and local storage

This website uses no cookies. If you switch the appearance (light/dark), your browser remembers that choice locally in localStorage under the key theme. That value never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us; you can delete it at any time via your browser settings. There is therefore no cookie banner for you to dismiss.

Fonts, scripts, analytics

All fonts, stylesheets, images and scripts on this website are delivered from our own server. No third-party services are embedded — in particular no Google Fonts, no content delivery network, no advertising networks and no audience measurement such as Google Analytics.

Google Maps

On the “Contact & directions" page you can display a map from Google Maps. By default the map is not loaded: at first you see only a placeholder graphic. Only when you click Load map is a connection established to servers of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Your IP address is transmitted to Google in the process; transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out.

The legal basis for this transfer is your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, which you give by clicking. You can withdraw that consent at any time by reloading the page — the map is then hidden again. Further details are in Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

You do not need the map: our address is written out in plain text on the page, and the “Open in Google Maps" link takes you there in a new tab without this website transmitting anything.

Getting in touch

If you call us or send us an e-mail, we process your details solely in order to deal with your enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or (f) GDPR. This website contains no contact form, so no data is transmitted to us via the website.

Your rights

You have the right at any time to obtain information free of charge about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the processing, as well as a right to rectification, restriction of processing, erasure and data portability. You may object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Please contact us at the address given above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Rheinland-Pfalz, Hintere Bleiche 34, 55116 Mainz, Germany.

SSL encryption

This website is delivered exclusively over encrypted HTTPS. You can tell by the padlock symbol in your browser's address bar. Requests over HTTP are redirected to HTTPS automatically.
